Electronics
Here are some electronic stuff that i built.
Stand alone music player based on RaspberryPi and Libreelec, first version had a hard drive and switched PSU, updated version god linear PSU, card reader instead of hard drive and a better DAC by Nuforce.
It works as intended, however LibreElec doesnt have the option to select font size as regular Kodi does, even if the screen has a low resolution the text is barely visible from a normal "living room distance", i increased the font size by editing some config files.
Open frame enclosure was supposed to be for "development" purpose only but it ended up as permanent solution. Eventually i will build a closed enclosure, it gets dusty like this.
I found this old Inducta master clock at an auction, its an electro-mechanical self winding mechanism, a lot of parts where missing so i converted it to stepper motor drive and built a cabinet for it, stepper driver is a wave drive "Johnson counter" made of flip-flops and its controlled by 1Hz clock. I could have used more modern stepper driver but i wanted to keep the vintage
style. Motor is connected via gear reduction to clocks second hand shaft. Project is not done yet, it seems to work but its way to loud, every step of the motor creates a lot of vibrations that spreads into clocks metal construction, this makes a lot of noise, i will rebuilt it to belt driven reduction and put the motor on some rubber dampening.
Soldering station for Hakko fm-2028 handpiece with T12/T15 tips, power supply has been modified to reduce voltage from 36 to 24V, enclosure is made from acrylic plastic sheets.
Arduino based clock with serial matrix led display, the Arduino code for the clock is from this guy, https://www.mylms.cz/arduino-hodiny-s-maticovym-displejem/ it works perfectly and i have been using it for over a year, two first buttons are for settings, third button is a reset for Arduino, toggle switch enables buttons and turns button illumination on, settings switches are debounced with 100n capacitors in parallel.
More projects comming soon...
